West Sussex Teaching School Hub

GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Our vision is for every child in every school in England to have a world-leading computing education. We aim to transform the way computing is taught in schools across the country – and enable more young people to benefit from studying this important subject. Through this, we believe that their skills and career opportunities will be enhanced.

We believe that every individual, and group of individuals, should feel included and encouraged when engaging with computing education. We make sure that diversity and inclusion is integral to our planning, our programmes and materials, the way we work and how we behave. Within a culture that champions diversity and promotes inclusion, we know we are better able to advance our vision.

The National Centre for Computing Education (NCCE) is funded by the Department for Education and supporting partners and marks a significant investment in improving the provision of computing education in England. It is delivered by STEM Learning and is made up of the following programmes, Teach Computing, Isaac Computer Science & Computing Quality Framework.

We provide teachers with a comprehensive range of evidence-informed, high-quality support, including free resources and training courses. Funding is available, including subsidies, to support supply cover for continuing professional development - to help them become inspirational computing teachers.

We are dedicated to support schools to expand their Key Stage 4 provision and start offering GCSE Computer Science to their students. Get help from a dedicated Subject Matter Expert to create an actionable plan and identify the next steps.

Our Computing Hubs are led by schools and colleges across England with excellence in teaching computing. These Hubs support schools and colleges to provide a high-quality computing education to all young people.

The West Sussex & Hampshire Computing hub will work with you to identify your computing needs and provide a targeted programme of support to help embed this key subject in your school.
