GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

The Adur Language Hub at Hove Park School has been selected as one of just fifteen Phase 1 lead schools for the NCLE Language Hubs initiative. Their aim is to support high-quality language education in England by working with identified partner schools and affiliated organisations.

Key aims: 

1. encourage high quality language teaching in schools

2. increase languages uptake at GCSE

3. support levelling up opportunities for disadvantaged students

4. reverse the decline in the study of German

5. address the performance of boys

6. better recognise and support the rich diversity of home, heritage and community languages in school

The NCLE is funded by the Department for Education (DfE) and delivered by IOE, UCL's Faculty of Education and Society (UCL IOE) in partnership with the British Council and the Goethe-Institut.
