GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Darren started his 20 years of secondary school teaching as an Oracle Academy Instructor, leading a course on Java programming and Oracle Databases at St Andrew’s Catholic School in Leatherhead whilst teaching Computing and ICT. From here he went on to become Director of Computing at Guildford County School before moving to the private sector as Director of Digital Learning at Luckley House School. He has now returned to the state sector and is currently teaching Esports at Queen Mary’s College alongside becoming Secondary Lead for the West Sussex and Hampshire Computing hub. He loves innovating, programming new systems to support, enthuse and engage his students, from multiplayer hacking games to automated sweet dispensers and BB8 roulette. Darren is excited to help support all the schools in our region and regularly delivers free computer science training as a certified PDL.

Susie Bohunt image

Susie

Susie has been teaching for 30 years. She trained in Scotland, taught overseas and has now been back in the UK for over 10 years. Susie is passionate about STEM and about training teachers, building their skills and confidence to enable them to pass them on to the children, and runs Engineering and Computing STEM workshops all over the UK for a Private Company when she is not working at the Hub.
