Areas covered: Kent, Medway, Sussex and South East London. KMT is organised into five hubs: North Kent & London, Mid Kent, East Kent, West Kent & Sussex and Primary. Within these hubs, KMT works closely with over 250 partner schools to deliver our ambitious, broad and balanced curriculum.
At Kent and Medway Training, we believe that our school-centered approach to initial teacher training within a strong community of schools, leaders, mentors and teachers results in a programme that best prepares trainee teachers for their early careers and beyond.
Our hub-based model ensures that trainees receive personalised training that responds to their local context. Each hub provides associate teachers the opportunity to further enhance their training experience in a variety of educational settings, including primary, secondary (selective and non-selective), special and independent.
We also offer a wide range of curriculum enhancements such as 'prison as a place of learning', tailored support for secondary subjects from the national subject hubs and bespoke support packages for career changers.
As a result of KMT’s evidence-informed, carefully sequenced and ambitious curriculum, associate teachers will emerge fully prepared for the profession and equipped with the knowledge, skills and attributes needed to continue to develop and thrive.
Courses offered: Primary, Secondary, Part-time/flexible routes, Salaried/apprenticeship, QTS with PGCE, QTS only, Teacher degree apprenticeship, Assessment only, 3-7
