GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Meet Our Trainee Teachers

Hussain 12.02.25

Meet Hussain, Our GLF Trainee Teacher!

We're excited to introduce Hussain, a dedicated trainee teacher specialising in secondary drama. Hussain's teaching philosophy centres on the belief that drama is a powerful tool for self-expression and personal growth. He is passionate about helping young people challenge themselves both physically and mentally, and he loves seeing students develop their public speaking and social skills through drama.

Hussain's enthusiasm for theatre is evident in his lessons, where he shares his love for live performances, like Spirited Away at the London Colosseum. Outside of teaching, he enjoys watching Superstore, exploring jazz violin, crocheting, and writing plays on themes like neurodiversity and South Asian culture. He actively supports his old drama school's programs and is a resident writer there. One of his proudest achievements is starting a neurodiversity week at his old drama school, which has become an annual event promoting inclusion.

Meet Our Trainee Teacher, Guy Watkins!

We're thrilled to introduce Guy Watkins, who brings a wealth of experience and a passion for literature to our team. After a successful career as a barrister in London, Guy decided to embark on a new adventure in education. His enthusiasm for helping students to harness the power of the written and spoken word is truly inspiring.

Guy enjoys reading anything that offers a fresh perspective on the world. Outside the classroom, you'll find him running at Nonsuch Park, playing tennis, and cheering on Brighton and Hove Albion with his daughters.
