Options for Schools
There are three options for schools to choose in order to deliver the entitlement to an Early Career Framework-Based Induction.
-
DfE-funded training provider
Previously known as the Full Induction Programme - this programme is fully funded by the DfE. As part of this option, schools select a Delivery Partner (That’s us) accredited by the DfE who design and deliver a programme of training and support (That’s Ambition Institute).
In addition to the training programme, this is the only option where schools will receive additional funding to backfill mentor time in addition to the funding for time off timetable. -
DfE-accredited materials to deliver your own training
Previously known as the Core Induction Programme - schools selecting this option will design and deliver their own training using DfE accredited materials and resources. Schools will need to self-fund the design and delivery of the early career teacher and mentor training in-house.
Fidelity checks will be necessary, by the Appropriate Body, to safeguard the ECTs’ entitlement to an ECF-based induction. -
Design & deliver your own ECF-based training
Previously known as the school-based programme, this option requires schools to design and deliver their own two-year induction programme based on the framework within the statutory guidance.
Enhanced Fidelity checks will be necessary, by the Appropriate Body, to safeguard the ECTs’ entitlement to an ECF-based induction.
