NPQ Autumn 2026

Applications for the NPQ Autumn 2026 cohort are now OPEN!

Funding for the Autumn 2026 cohort is targeted at leaders and aspiring leaders in all schools.

The following programmes are fully funded for all schools:

NPQH (Headship)

NPQSL (Senior Leadership)

NPQSENCO (SENCO’s)

NPQEYL (Early Years leaders)

In addition, it is also targeted at teachers who work in the most challenging schools or educational settings, serving more disadvantaged communities and therefore all programmes are fully funded for schools who meet the DfE eligibility criteria:

· the 50% of schools with the highest proportion of students who attract pupil premium funding

· early years and 16 to 19 educational settings identified as having high disadvantage To know whether your school is eligible for funding, please refer to DfE NPQ eligibility lists HERE.

For any schools who are not eligible for funded places on programmes, the cost associated with each programme in 2026 is outlined in the chart below along with links to all applications:

Requesting a TRN

If there is an NPQ that you would like to undertake and you do not have a TRN, please use the following link to request one; https://www.gov.uk/guidance/teacher-reference-number-trn and go to the ‘Request a TRN’ section. 

Please note, for most NPQ's, only qualified teachers are eligible to apply however there are circumstances when non qualified teachers are able to undertake a programme eg NPQLBC or NPQEYL.
